Do any of these database-driven approaches avoid the expense of reconnecting to the database for every request? Since cgi programs are all new processes and the netscape server chooses from a pool of existing processes, how do vendors make this happen? You _could_ customize the cern/W3 server, since the source code is available, but I have doubts that many commercial sites are using the w3 server. --- Luke Gonze --- luke@applix.com --- --- Software Engineer, Applix Espresso project ---
