>Option 1 (NT) > o Is Netscape's NT server shipping yet? I don't know, but there are other options including ORA's Website and EMWAC's http server > o ntperl exists, but is sybperl portable? This seems to be the problem area. I couldn't find anyone who had done this yet, although a few are trying. The developers helping me thought that porting Sybperl would be pretty difficult. In addition, people have reported incompatibilities with visual c++ 2.0 and nobody I spoke to seems to know where the required uperl.o file comes from (including people at Integraph who ported Perl to the NT). > o And if so, is the same Open Client interface available? Yes. >Option 2 (BSDI) > o Is Open Client available for this platform? > o Any other way to access Sybase from perl? > >Option 3 (Solaris) > o Open Client is available, sybperl should run, any other issues? > o Any problems with a cross-platform database connection? Of course they need a decision today. After experimenting with Option 1, we also concluded that Option 3 was the way to go, much more software, support and expertise is available. And it's more scalable. Good luck. ------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Suthoff 9812 Falls Road, Suite 100 Consultant Potomac, Maryland 20854 USA BRC http://www.brcorp.com/pub/brcorp/home.html
