Hello, QAWG.
Since I could not make this trip to Dublin, Karl asked me if I could
give a rapid overview of the activity in and around the QAIG since our
previous meeting. Below is a summary of discussions publications and
software releases I could remember or track.
Almost all discussions/publications focused on Web
authoring/HTML/markup languages, with only a few exceptions.
Publications:
- "wasp asks w3c - object part 2" (published at WASP)
http://webstandards.org/learn/askw3c/jun2004.html
- "more about custom dtds" (published at ALA)
http://www.alistapart.com/articles/customdtds2/
- "Ampersands, PHP Sessions and Valid HTML"
http://www.w3.org/QA/2005/04/php-session
- (and a few updates to QA Tips)
Discussions:
- (advocacy of) valid XML
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-evangelist/2005May/
thread.html#17
- XHTML10 vs HTML401
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-evangelist/2005May/
thread.html#2
- How to define elements in Markup Languages
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-qa/2005Jul/thread.html#6
(note: relatively little activity on the wiki for topics related to QA,
with the exception of tools development)
Software releases:
- Link Checker 4.2
http://www.w3.org/QA/2005/01/News2005#x20050428a
- Markup (HTML) Validator 0.7.0
http://www.w3.org/QA/2005/01/News2005#x20050808a
- CSS validator (several updates)
Looking forward to seeing the results of your discussions on future
work.
