Editorial notes on specGL

Hello Karl,

I'll try hard to make my SpecGL assignments this week; in the meantime,
a few editorial remarks on specGL, in case you've started an editor
version:
- there are outdated references (see [1])
- we're under the Patent Policy, so the language of the SOTD will need
to be updated - it currently uses the CPP wording
- spelling errors [2]
