Hello,
Eighteen people attended the 4 November 2002 Patent Policy Working
Group (PPWG) teleconference. The group talked about their
presentation to the W3C Advisory Committee in Boston later this
month. They discussed a discussion thread about patents among W3C
Members. Most of the meeting was devoted to a PPWG participant's
suggestion that invited experts from government and universities that
may hold patents enlist in W3C Working Groups as outside
consultants. The group discussed the one government with which some
participants had experience, the United States, and the Bayh-Dole
Act. Time ran out before the group could touch on their last agenda
item, the future of the PPWG.
Best wishes,
