I have gotten some questions about this sent to me personally, so let me answer them for everybody.... The latest official version of the P3P specification was issued on December 15, 2000. Since then we have announced a number of minor changes, which are listed at http://www.w3.org/P3P/updates.html We have a few more changes in the works which we hope to have finalized in the next two weeks. By the end of this month we plan to issue a new version of the P3P specification that incorporates all of the changes. This version will have a new name space. User agents will be able to identify which web sites have updated to the latest specification because they will include the new name space in their policies. For most sites, updating to the latest version of the spec should be very easy. We will provide a checklist of the things you may need to change. As far as I can tell, if you make these changes IE6 will still be able to read your site's P3P policies. P3P user agents released after this month may or may not be able to read your site's polcies if you do not make these changes. Lorrie Cranor P3P Specification Working Group Chair
