I am pleased to announce that the W3C Multimodal Interaction Working Group (http://www.w3.org/2002/mmi/) has published the Candidate Recommendation of the Multimodal Architecture and Interfaces specification http://www.w3.org/TR/2012/CR-mmi-arch-20120112/. This document describes a loosely coupled architecture for multimodal user interfaces, which allows for co-resident and distributed implementations, including multi-device applications, and focuses on the use of well-defined interfaces between its constituents. The W3C invites reports on implementations of the Multimodal Architecture and Interfaces specification. Information on submitting an implementation report is provided in the specification. Implementation feedback is welcome through February 29, 2012 and should be sent to this list (www-multimodal@w3.org). Best regards, Debbie Dahl W3C Multimodal Interaction Working Group Chair
