The ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) is an international forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge among researchers and developers concerned with virtual reality software and technology. This year, VRST 2009 is co-sponsored by ACM and the Virtual Reality Society of Japan (VRSJ). VRST 2009 will provide an opportunity for VR researchers to interact, share new results, show live demonstrations of their work, and discuss emerging directions for the field. == Important Dates (Extended) == Abstracts due (*): June 17, 2009 (Papers & Short Papers) Submission due: June 24, 2009 (Papers & Short Papers) Notification of acceptance: July 29, 2009 Demos and posters due: July 29, 2009 Conference dates: November 18-20, 2009 (*) Abstracts (free format and length) need to be submitted through the submission website, for reviewer assignment purposes only. == Call for Papers == ACM VRST 2009 seeks original, unpublished papers documenting original research contributions, practice and experience, or novel applications, from all areas of virtual, mixed and augmented reality. Authors are required to submit fully formatted papers, with graphs, images, and other special areas arranged as intended for final publication. The ACM SIGGRAPH paper preparation guidelines are described at http://www.siggraph.org/publications/instructions. The maximum length for a regular paper submission is 8 pages. The maximum length for a short paper submission is 4 pages. Reviewers will be instructed to weigh the contribution of a paper relative to its length. Submissions may be optionally accompanied by additional materials such as images, videos, or electronic documents. These materials do not form a part of the official submission and will be viewed only at the discretion of the reviewers.
