>Is there any activity going on in developing a SMIL Browser? Yes, members of the SYMM WG are actively working on SMIL implementations. >Or will it >be possible to view SMIL documents with some kind of XML browser? There is no such thing as an "XML browser". XML defines a set of conventions that allow you to define application-specific languages such as SMIL. This is similar to SGML, which is used to define HTML. The relationship between XML and other languages is explained very nicely in "W3C Data Formats" W3C NOTE 29-October-1997 This document: http://www.w3.org/TR/NOTE-rdfarch Author: Tim Berners-Lee, W3C <timbl@w3.org> and the W3C team.
