DICE (Device Independent Content Engine) is a new project created at the University of Wales Aberystwyth. It is an open source project to create a lightweight framework for creating CC/PP compliant web services and applications. DICE is a Java Servlet based system using DELI (from HP Labs, see earlier posts for details) to resolve and cache CC/PP and UAProf profiles. It also supports legacy devices such as most of the major browsers which do not currently broadcast their profiles. DICE has been designed to be easily extendable through the use of content producers and content processors. The DICE distribution comes with several different example producers and processors. 'Out-of-the-box' DICE can be configured to perform selection (select form a set of ready created pages) or simple transformation. More examples will be created later. To download and read more about DICE, please visit: http://dice.ccpp.info/ If you have any comments, questions, suggestions, bug reports etc, I would love to hear them. Apologies for any inconveniences.
