Call for Papers and participation in WWRF ************************************************** Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF) Kick-off meeting in Munich, March 6-7, 2000 ************************************************** Alcatel, Ericsson, Nokia and Siemens announced the creation of the "Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF)" in December 2000. The objective of the new forum is to formulate visions on strategic future research directions in the wireless field, among industry and academia, and to generate, identify, and promote research areas and technical trends for mobile and wireless system technologies. It is intended to constructively contribute to the work done within the UMTS Forum, ETSI, 3GPP, IETF, ITU, and other relevant bodies regarding commercial and standardisation issues derived from the research work. available through WSI homepage (http://www.ist-wsi.org) are: - WWRF pressrelease (Dec 2000), - call for contributions and - registration form for the Kick-off meeting ************************************************** THE FORUM IS OPEN TO ALL INTERESTED PARTIES. Members are expected to contribute papers and ideas. In 2001, the forum will organise three working sessions and a workshop towards the end of the year. As input to the Kick-Off Meeting of the WWRF in Munich on March 6-7, WE INVITE WRITTEN CONTRIBUTIONS. Papers may address any issue beyond third generation wireless communications, including, but not limited to the following subject areas: 1. Applications, Services, and the User's Perspective 2. New Wireless Technologies 3. System Concepts 4. Spectrum Issues 5. General Issues Contributions should preferably contain 1 - 3 pages and should be submitted by e-mail, either in plain ASCII text or with MS Word or PS attachments, to: visions@ist-wsi.org The contributions must include a title, the proposed subject area as well as the names, affiliations, addresses, and e-mails of the authors. Contributions will be published in an electronic "Book of Visions" of the WWRF, if permitted by the authors. Several contributions will be selected for presentation at the WWRF Kick-Off Meeting.
