Hello,

I have been reading up on developing markup languages, and wonder if
somone could provide me clarification on this.

I understand WML and XHTML Basic to be competing specifications from the
WAP Forum and W3C, respectively, for displaying content on mobile
devices. I read the following announcement on W3C's site :

"By working together, the WAP Forum and the W3C will enable wireless
devices to participate as full peers in the universal information space of
the Web, largely through the incorporation of WAP's Wireless Markup
Language (WML) features into the W3C's XHTML, the next generation markup
language for the Web. "

Is there somewhere that explains more fully the direction of these two
specifications? That is, with they fully converge, or will providers
have to develop content in both languages?

Thanks in advance,
Mike Claiborne
