I have been quietly observing the standardisation of the WAP content language WML (previously HDML). Although it has now been "XMLized", progress on its acceptance (or not) by W3C seems to have slowed. However, the industry acceptance of the WAP standards is moving at a very fast pace. What is the status of the acceptance of the WML proposal by the W3C? Is there a general feeling of acceptance in the community, or is it a case of being incompatible with HTML and hence outside the scope of the W3C? Andrew Scott Telstra Research Labs, Australia
