TPAC

NS: TPAC has sent out a preliminary agenda. Our group is not on it.

NS: asked who was going in person. Only PL is sure that he is going in
person.

NS: says that TPAC asks people to pay if they are attending virtually;
however, there is an option not to pay -- don't feel guilted into paying.

About six people said they would attend remotely; therefore, seven people
from the group plan to attend in person or remotely.

NS asked: Do people want a three-hour meeting to help write the MathML spec
4? The answer was yes.

BB: There is no restriction on meeting start times.

NS: We will have our meeting in the morning to accommodate DC.

NS asked BK if we should try to meet with the CSS group about core issues?

NS: we will do a three-hour meeting in the morning to resolve certain
issues. This would not be liaising with other groups.

The ARIA group wanted us to figure problems out ourselves.

BK: there are some issues we will have to resolve with other groups. He
does not think we are in a productive spot to talk to other groups.

BK said that it will be easier to talk to other groups after the MathML
capable version of Chrome ships.

NS: Printing does not work in chrome and the MathML chrome shipment is
being held up.

NS: submitted a comment about this.

BK: We should try to grab certain individuals for hall meetings to resolve
our issues.

NS: the polyfills are not in a good state because we cannot use the shadow
dom.

LM: The following link was placed in the meeting chat messages: (
https://github.com/web-platform-tests/interop-2022/labels/proposal).

NS: We want to issue the FPWD around the time of the TPAC meeting.

We will want to update the MathML 4 Core with the URL of our FPWD.

content/appendix F updates?

SD: He closed the issue of moving items into Appendix f.

accessibility appendix updates?

SN added text to the accessibility appendix.

NS: may have material for the accessibility section.

SN wanted to have a meeting with people who write accessibility code. SN
will meet with SD and NS about this.

SN: if an element is not in the DOM, how can AT find it?

NS: core may need an accessibility section.

NS: Should some of SN's work be pulled out of the SPEC's FPWD and put in
core?

BK: was unsure about taking things out of the spec and putting them in core.

SN: should we reach out to the accessible platform architecture (APA) group?

NS: APA says we can do what we want as long as it is accessible.

BK SVG has a section on accessibility. We need the equivalent of the SVG C2
appendix.

expand/collapse accessibility frustrations

DC: has an open all button. It takes many minutes for the open all button
to work. Chrome gets slower and slower the longer you use it. this is the
non-respec version.

LM: Firefox works for JAWS and NVDA for the folding process.

BK: Does this only happen when using screen readers? Yes.

BK: has asked for an example of this.

DC: Look at (https://w3c.github.io/mathml/spec.html).

media types publication

PL: The next step in the Media Types publication effort is to make an
announcement on the Media Types email list.

Final Meeting Comment: DC: The U.S. patent office was complaining about a
schema in the MathML three specification.
