Attendees: - David Carlisle - Christopher Comninel - Sam Dooley - Deyan Ginev - Patrick Ion - Louis Maher - Bruce Miller - Murray Sargent - Neil Soiffer - Steve Noble - Cary Supalo - Bert Bos - Stephen Watt Regrets: - David Farmer - Paul Libbrecht - Daniel O'Mahony - Moritz Schubotz Announcements/updatesGap Analysis Doc DC: has moved the Gap document to GitHub. The gap document is located at: https://w3c.github.io/mathml-docs/gap-analysis/ NS: The gap document has three examples for each section. To save space, one example is shown, and links to the two other examples are provided. NS: The gap document is in html and Markdown. DC: We may have to style MathJax to give a common appearance for the document. We would like the same set of fonts to be used throughout the document. BM: The introduction it is about ambiguity. It loses the idea of natural speech. *ACTION* NS: will work on this. BM's edits have been disappearing. NS: The document must get shorter. BM: wanted to touch certain points in the introduction so that they would not have to be discussed later. PI: NS's condensations are laudable. He used links to take examples out of the main portion of the gapdocument. PI does not want these links to disappear from the paper. SW: Parallel markup makes him think about content and presentation. You can give them in different granularities. SW: We talk about parallel markup, but we do not discuss other uses of semantic elements. We can glue intent onto other things. PI: The original intent of the semantics item was for more things than just accessibility. NS: If we want something to be read, and the element requires explanation, we would like to use a nearby item rather than some faraway item that must be connected with a link. NS: said that no one outside the group would think about this; therefore, we will not mention it in the gap document. Thus far, NS and DC are the only people who volunteered to be editors. NS: will edit it and tell us when a section is finished. He will need help on examples. *ACTION* SD: will code the examples for the parallel and intent sections. NS: Does not know how to write "schema.org" and "RDFA" examples. NS: may pull the section because no one wants to work on it. DC: Is the gap document going to be a working group note? The group decided it would not be a formal WG note. NS: We will leave it on GitHub. It will not be a formal note. LM: We will use IRC to take minutes for the WG meeting of October 7, 2021. You can access the meeting area by using the W3C IRC web client at https://irc.w3.org/ We will use the #math channel.
