I agree with you that the combining characters should not be used as a single character in a <mo/>. Actually, I think we have problems when used that way, because of their negative margins. So I guess the author of Asana Math should modify his font to use non-combining characters instead. For the 4 missing fences, I have no particular preference for the decision to take. Anyway, even if the Math WG does not add them, and if it turns out that users really need these chars as stretchy fences, then we can always added the chars in Mozilla's private dictionary.
