                      [ apologies for multiple copies.]

  With the wide-spread availability of Tablet PCs and hand-held devices
  there is an opportunity for a new paradigm of interface for popular
  mathematical software packages. The use of the pen to enter, edit, and
  manipulate mathematical expressions can lead to a qualitative improvement
  in the ease of use of computer algebra systems. The purpose of this
  session is to explore this direction.

  We seek participation of people working, or interested, in this area.

  Please send short abstracts (1/4 to 1/2 page) for talks to

    watt "at" orcca.on.ca by June 15

  Topics include, but are not limited to:

  * Pen-based interfaces for computer algebra
  * Pen-based expression entry, editing and manipulation
  * Semantic methods for disambiguation
  * Data collection and analysis
  * Structural analysis of 2 dimensional mathematical notation
  * On-line and off-line mathematical handwriting recognition
  * Reports on implementations and experiments
