installing fonts - linux

It should not be this difficult and it is probably my ignorance
I cannot seem to get Mozilla/Netscape to find the math fonts
under linux
does anyone have a recipe for installing tthe fonts needed under RH or Suse
Linux
for Mozilla or Netscape
