No, I was looking at the files extracted from the zip file rather than
the snippet in your mail. You are specifying the position of the glyph
using XML numeric character references. This does not work for many
fonts, for example the math italic font used by teX has a capital gamma
in position 0 and you can not reference a character with value zero in
XML either as character data or as a character reference.
