Thanks very much for the menclose suggestion. I guess we'll go
 with that, once notation names are decided, although I have a
comment below.

It could be argued that

    <mrow> expression</mrow><mo>combining mark</mo>

even more clearly shows an operator -- it's a shame in a way
that the combining marks are deprecated (although I understand
the parsing ambiguity reason David points to).

We would also want a straight horizontal line strikethrough, or is
there an existing way to achieve that?

We're not actually using MathPlayer on this content (sorry!),
but others might be grateful for this, and we might in the
future.
