The following comments on the MathML Last Call Draft were prepared by Anders Berglund for the XSL WG. The XSL WG has not formally approved these comments. These comments are being sent separately to the XSL WG for approval and/or modification by Tuesday, May 2. We appreciate the opportunity to comment. Thanks. Sharon XSL WG Co-chair Review of Section 5 of the MathML last call draft. Comment 1 (editorial errors): 5.4.1 2nd last line in the first <xsl:template> example lacks an "m:" 5.4.3 3rd last line in the <xsl:template> example lacks an "m:" Comment 2: 5.3.3 The methods described appears to, potentially, be quite compute intensive in finding the corresponding math fragments. Should more restrictions be defined? For example, requiring the order of the "xref"s to be the same as for the "id"s (in order not to have to search all siblings to determine if there is a match between an xref and and id). Typically XML engines would index the IDs, but not the references to these IDs. Could one reverse the usage of id and xref so speed up the processing? Sharon C.
