Comments to Last Call from Opera Sofware: MathML does a good job of catering both to those striving for content markup, as well as the presentation-oriented markup. The level of abstraction of the presentation-oriented markup is still high enough to allow for media-independent presentations. MathML 2.0, however, contains some visual warts that should be removed or deprecated: the so-called "CSS-compatible attributes". They were also present in MathML 1.0, but neither place have thier position been justified. Style sheets provide a much cleaner way of moving futher down towards presentation. Also, having a third level of abstraction (in addition to the content and presentation-oriented elements) seems a bit too much.
