HELP: Sending HTTP request with timeout and retries

Hi All,

Im using libwww5.4.0 on solaris 2.8 system

I've got couple of queries

I want to send request to HTTP server. Request contains xml data.

1) How do I include my request data in to HTRequest object?

2) Also I need to incoporate functionality for timeout and reries. How 
timeout and retries are handled in libwww?

I gone trough the some of the sample examples but could not get how to 
include my  data into request object
