problem with HTAnchor_findMainLink

I am trying to implement robots by using lib-www. When I try to
implement showlinks using direct function calls rather than call-back to
foundLink, I am unable to do it because,  HTAnchor_findMainLink returns
a NULL. Could someone help me with this. Is it possible to use the
LibWWW libraries without call backs at all?
