The pending pipeline of requests for a host is killed when there is a
timeout on that host.  Unfortunately, the proxy is regarded as a host as
well.  So if one site times out, everything in the pipeline for the proxy
host gets killed even if the other end hosts are alive!
Any known fix for this?
