xml callbacks and offline list reading

I have two questions.  I compiled libwww 5.2.8 using VC5
Everything works so far.
I want to parse an xml file, but I never get any callbacks
In the example showxml, It parses my xml file and even writes it to my
local drive, but non of the call back handlers ever get called.  Any Ideas?
success stories?

also, can I get these mailing archives to browse offline?  My connection
