While I realize it varies from company to company, can anyone point me in the right direction for developing documentation of Web Development Protocol Standards / Maintenance Procedures and Corporate Intranet infrastructure by identifying Design Standards? Our Intranet has evolved as a patchy, confusing set of pages, some well-designed, others inoperable, and all exist as parts of a dysfunctional system. Our lack of design standards also limits Intranet use by imposing complex design decisions on new or inexperienced users. Without reasonable, consistent design standards our Intranet user suffers in confusion, lost productivity, and lost opportunity to fully benefit from the promise of Intranet technologies. I would greatly appreciate any resources or references you may have to offer.
