Thanks for your follow-up.

Guest what, the sys-admin became interested in libwww !
So he "found the time" to install everything necessary for 
it to run on the normal /usr/... area as well as the 
"chroot web area". Everything now works well, from a CGI 
script and from the usual command line.

Thanks again for releasing this useful library.  
The other thing is that we enjoy its intuitive-use 
very much.
