Absolutely!  dist-hook was designed to be run after the distribution
directory was filled in, but before the tar was run.

Until true zip capability is added, you can use this hook to do what
you want.

Send me your dist-hook when you've written it, and I'll extract the
appropriate zip command from it to include in Automake.  (There are
still some unresolved issues for zip distributions, but maybe we can
let them slide for a while)
