help! the HTTP/1.1 q-value is bugging me from Rodel Miguel on 2001-03-22 (www-jigsaw@w3.org from March to April 2001)

please help me with this problem.

I dont understand the presence of the q-value in the requests, like in Accept header for example. If there's the presence of a q-value, then the media type is acceptable to the client unless the q value is 0.  Now would it be ok if my server does ignore these parameter and just check if the q-value is not zero?
