Password Protect PUTS?

Hello,

I'm running Jigsaw 2.1.2 and I can both do puts to update pages (using
Amaya) and password protect resources on the server.  Is it possible to
combine the two parts so that I can allow general read-access to pages
that have editing limited to users who authenticate?
