HTTP/1.1 compliance test tool?

Hello,
I'm wondering if the Jigsaw team or someone else has (or knows of) some
tool to make automated validation of HTTP/1.1 compliance of web- and
proxy servers.
More specifically a client-side tool that tests and lists the compliance
of various HTTP/1.1 features in a web- or proxy server.
Of course one can test by snooping on the network traffic and doing
manual inspection, but I thought that maybe there exists a tool that has
been used during the development of Jigsaw.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
