I only want to restrict access to > one page, not a whole directory. yes, it is a known problem with the root resource of 2.0, you have to do the changes, save then restart the server and it will work, this is fixed in 2.1 (the source is a duplication of the root resource). Otherwise authentication on a single resource works ok, as a container is just a particular resource.
