Due to the french policy, it was impossible to work on an SSL version of Jigsaw. The IAIK code is mainly their SSL code with a wrapper to fit in Jigsaw. This wrapper is quite small and works only with 2.0.1. I updated it to work with 2.0.3 and up. Their SSL work is supported, so is Jigsaw. It must be close to the real thing then. I have heard some people in this list talking about doing an implementation of SSL in Jigsaw, using SSLeay (native code) but no news from that point. I hpe that at some point another version will rise, as it is always good to have different implementations.
