[help]where should I focus on?

Hi!
I am doing research on collabrorative caching.
I want to build the structure as follows:

	Jigsaw server
            |
     ------------------
    |                 |
Jigsaw proxy        Jigsaw proxy

There may be 1-32 proxies there. 
I want to modify some algo in ICP(e.g.,
use data mining to predict the where(proxy/server) the 
obeject is in.)
So pls give me some helps :
1)which part of the Jigsaw source I should focus on?
2)I want to measure the performance(e.g., hit rate),
which part I should focus on?

btw: how can i generate client requests? using Amaya or
sth else?
