I've verified my CLASSPATH per your suggestion, and the server docs say that 2.01b comes configured with servlets. In any case, I don't know how to use makefiles, at least not java ones. Below is what the window that the JigSaw server prints when I try to add a ServletDirectoryFrame in JigAdmin: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/servlet/ServletContext at org.w3c.jigsaw.admin.BrokerFrame.remoteRegisterFrame(BrokerFrame.java) at org.w3c.jigsaw.admin.BrokerFrame.extended(Compiled Code) at org.w3c.jigsaw.frames.HTTPFrame.perform(Compiled Code) at org.w3c.tools.resources.FramedResource.performFrames(Compiled Code) at org.w3c.tools.resources.FramedResource.perform(Compiled Code) at org.w3c.jigsaw.admin.AdminServer.perform(Compiled Code) at org.w3c.jigsaw.http.Client.processRequest(Compiled Code) at org.w3c.jigsaw.http.Client.startConnection(Compiled Code) at org.w3c.jigsaw.http.socket.SocketClient.run(Compiled Code) at org.w3c.util.CachedThread.run(Compiled Code)
