ANNOUNCEMENT/CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: This is a call for participation in a workshop to be held on April 7, 1997 at the 6th Annual World Wide Web Conference in Santa Clara, California. A brief description follows: Object-Oriented Web Servers and Data Modeling --------------------------------------------- WORKSHOP COMMITTEE: o Dr. Leon Shklar <leon@pencom.com>, Pencom Systems & Rutgers Univ. o Dave Makower <davemak@pencom.com>, Pencom Systems o Wei-Yeh Lee <weiyeh@pencom.com>, Pencom Systems FOCUS: The new generation of Java-based, object-oriented Web servers, their support for data modeling, and new work in applying data modeling to the World-Wide Web. OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers and developers working on designing extensible object frameworks for the World-Wide Web -- as exemplified by these new Java-based HTTP servers -- and those interested in utilizing these frameworks to apply data-modeling approach to Web site construction. The desired result of the workshop is the formation of an informal working group from workshop participants.
