Dear CSS, The I18N WG has completed a review of CSS3 Text and I'm in the process of moving all of our comments into our live Tracker product, a process that I will complete today. No doubt you will see an array of tracker emails as a result. I want to personally apologize for the lateness of our comments. The holidays and other events kept the working group from finishing before you original deadline and I didn't do a good job after that of forwarding our comments in a timely manner. I regret that we are so late. There are a number of "normal" comments, but I do want to highlight a specific issue that the WG is concerned about. CSS3 Text tries, in a manner similar to other CSS specs, to redefine the term "character" to refer to grapheme clusters. I18N thinks that this results in a number of problems with the resulting text that make it imprecise and unclear and, as a result, we feel that the document should be much more careful in its use of Unicode and character model terminology.
