Re: New article for REVIEW: Using character entities and NCRs

My comments are editorial in nature.

1) At the beginning, in the question, eliminate the comma. Make it:
What are character entities and NCRs and when should I use them? OR
BETTER YET -- What are character entities and NCRs? When should I
use them?

2) First sentence under WHEN TO USE ESCAPES: change the which to
that, i.e., There are three character that should always . . .

3) In the paragraph beginning "Escapes can be useful . . . " change
to tense of choose from CHOSE (past tense) to CHOOSE (present tense).

4) In the paragraph beginning "If your editing tool . . .", put a
comma after characters and before you, i.e., . . . enter needed
characters, you may also . . . "

5) Further on in this same paragaph -- perhaps the words "makes
maintenance more difficult" would be better as "makes maintenance
error-prone". (Personally, I find it not difficult to enter such
characters, but I still tend to make some mistakes, hence I suggest
this alternative wording.)

6) Break the last sentence in this same paragraph into two: " . . .
enter these characters as characters. Alternatively, if you only
need . . .".

7) In the paragraph beginning "A potentially very useful role for
escapes . . .", I suggest to eliminate the word very -- just make it
"A potentially useful role for escapes . . .".

I found the document useful and constructive.
