Another minor detail ... Richard Ishida wrote: > http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/ruby/ Slide 14: There is a note saying: Note: Details of ruby formatting in a Japanese print context can be found in JIS-X-4051 ( "Line composition rules for Japanese documents" (日本語文書の行組版方法) JIS X 4051-1995, Japanese Standards Association, 1995 (in Japanese)). But JIS X 4051:1995 is obsolete now, JIS X 4051 was substantially updated in 2004 and its title has changed, too. Especially for ruby, JIS X 4051:1995 only allowed ruby text on the right of a line of vertical text / above a line of horizontal text (i.e. 'ruby-position' was fixed to 'before'), so while slide 14 shows an example of placing ruby on both sides, you won't find any advice to deal with that case in JIS X 4051:1995. JIS X 4051:2004 deals with that case as well. So this note should be revised to something like this: Note: Details of ruby formatting in a Japanese print context can be found in JIS X 4051 ("Formatting rules for Japanese documents" (日本語文書の組版方法) JIS X 4051:2004, Japanese Standards Association, 2004 (in Japanese)). -- Masayasu Ishikawa / mimasa@w3.org W3C - World Wide Web Consortium
