Dear friends in different part of the world, I appreciate everybody from different part of the world whom I have not met reading this email. I also hope there is someone willing and able to help. I have an uncle who is 73 year old and deteriating in health wants to retire from his textile business. I am writing for any connection for him to sell his existing stock for cash to close down his business. It has been harder than all of us closeby to anticipate due to the slow economy in the last two years in Asia, including Hong Kong and mainland China. He has been successful in his business especially in the last forty years that face to face dealing was the main way of doing business, and dry clean only business suit for men and women had been the standard in business world. His business was obviously impacted by 1) the culture changed in the work place that business casual became the norm and textile for suit and other dressier clothings became much lower in demand; 2) the internet in marketing and sales became the trend. So, it is very hard for him to see himself facing bankrupcy after 40 years of successful business, as much as for all of us around to see that getting close to happen. His existing stock is enough to pay all the debts, but it is hard to liquidate his stock, although in my opinions they are of good quality and good design at good wholesale price. I wonder if anybody from any part of the world can tell me if your country still has demand of those kind of woolen textile (for summer and winter) for men and women. I have also tried to locate an e-mailing list for garment manufacturing industry that would buy textile, but it is harder to find than other retail mailing list. He is willing to let go the stock at cost or very slightly over cost to breakeven, or even sell below cost if someone buys the entire stock. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He would find out the export requirements and fee related to the transaction. Thanks in advance. Gigi Yau St. Paul, Minnesota
