If Lachlan, Anna, and Henry are the only people involved in the
decision, there never was any point in the debate.  There are similarly
people with set views opposed to them.

What I guess I'm hoping is that there are other people involved who 
don't have the level of emotional commitment to the WHATWG solution, in 
which case the point of the debate is to try to make sure that they are 
aware of all the issues, and that there are other points of view.
