Hello Andrew, Thursday, November 23, 2000, 4:05:50 PM, you wrote: > In Reply to steven@creativefactory.com.au >> How do make a standard image rollover compliant to w3c 4.01 transitional. > As name is a valid attribute for img, is this an error with the validator > against the HTML 4.0 DTD? maybe? AFAIK: Initially "name" was removed from the HTML-DTD with version 4.0, because it should be replaced with "id". Because of a Bug in Netscape 4.x JavaScript, which cannot adress an <img> via "id", it was implemented into HTML 4.01 transitional. But the attribute is deprecated and does neither exist in HTML4.x/XHTML1.0 strict DTD nor in XHTML 1.1 DTD. -- Andreas Mäbert triplex - agentur fuer neue medien GmbH herzog-heinrich-strasse 11-13 80336 muenchen mailto:maebert@triplex.de http://www.triplex.de phone:+49 89 209138 18 fax:+49 89 209138 10
