Indeed.
It seems no one has yet mentioned (here) one solution that is
correct and much better than abusing undefined character references:
Using the Windows character code "cp1252/windows-1252", correctly
labeling the page as such, and using _byte_ number 153 for the
trademark. This is perfectly OK, and will work almost everywhere.
