I would greatly appreciate the W3C to include a recommendation for vector-based images for HTML. Personally I would prefer this to be a monochromatic format that could be rendered in the foreground color (great opportunity for scripts!!). EPS files come to mind as a quick and easy solution to this problem, although I'm not an expert in the pros and cons of image formats. EPS is not necessarily vector-based, it can contain bitmaps too. The best choice would be CGM, which is the international standard and is supported in most vector graphics packages (and even in some bitmap ones). SGML browsers like Panorama and MultiDoc Pro already support it. But the W3C can recommend until they're blue in the face: if browser makers don't see $$$ in it, they simply won't bother. ///Peter
