I think it would be advantageous to see a mechanism for referencing URLs
specified by <LINK>s. This is especially useful for managing a link that
is referenced many times. Changing the <LINK> would effectively change all
the uses of the link. In addition, it would encourage the use of LINK
tags, which would improve the automated interpretation of the content and
data structures of HTML sites.
Since links are allowed to have ids, this seems like the best referencing
mechanism.
Thoughts?
