What about specifying "regions" in an image that should be of a fixed length, and those that should be varying? How would a browser handle an image for example, "the bomb with the horizontal rule fuse" if a user resized the window? Maybe what would be an idea would be a precentage image like make the image 100% or 80% or you could tell the browser how many pixels across you want the image ruler to be!
