Proliferation of "id" attribute

Hi.

I was trying to use the "id=..." attribute with <div>, <p>, <ul>,
and <h>.  This doesn't seem to work with Mozilla 1.12...  I had to
revert to using <a name=...> as a prefix to the tag.  This is
nasty...

Anyone else implement this attribute?  Is it just netscape that's
delinquent?
