Hello, in http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3385 we received a bug report claiming that the validator does not complain about the lack of xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" in <html> element for XHTML 1.1. Indeed, this is a requisite for a strictly conformant document[1], but a quick look at the (flat) XHTML 1.1 DTD doesn't show me that this attribute is #REQUIRED. Am I missing something? Is this an omission in the DTD? On purpose?
