Dear HyperText Markup Language Working Group, Appendix C.6 of the XHTML 1.0 Second Edition Recommendation seems to be misplaced in Appendix C as it does not seem to discuss guidelines for XHTML authors who wish to deliver XHTML documents to legacy user agents, but rather notes a difference from HTML 4.01 or a limitation of XML DTDs as HTML 4.01 did not allow more than one isindex element in the head element (except in <head><object><isindex> or similar). The item should be removed and a new section should be added to state that in XHTML 1.0 documents the <head> element must not have more than one <isindex> child. regards.
